After treatment — Cockroaches
Seeing more cockroaches in the days after treatment is a sign the gel is working. Here is how to read each stage.

What happens, day by day
Understanding the timeline avoids needless worry — and tells you when something is genuinely wrong.
0–4 h
Returning home
Ventilate, then wash only food-preparation surfaces. Leave the gel points untouched.
24–72 h
Activity peak (normal)
You will see more, sometimes in daylight: they leave hiding spots to feed on the gel. This is the sign it's working.
1–2 weeks
Rapid decline
Cascade effect in the nest: roaches that ate the gel contaminate the colony. The population collapses.
3–4 weeks
Follow-up treatment
The follow-up visit targets newly hatched roaches: oothecae (egg capsules) are not reached by the gel.
6 weeks
Elimination
No activity at all, including at night and in sensitive areas (behind appliances).
What to do in the first 48 hours
- 1
Ventilate for 30 minutes, then wash counters and table — without touching treated cracks or baseboards.
- 2
Put food back, in airtight containers.
- 3
Leave no dirty dishes or crumbs: the gel must remain the most attractive food source in the home.
- 4
Pick up dead cockroaches and dispose of them outside in a sealed bag.
What you must not do
- Do not clean the gel points (small brown droplets): every destroyed point delays the result.
- Do not spray any insecticide over the gel — it becomes repellent and roaches stop feeding on it.
- Do not use an insect bomb (fogger): it scatters the colony into the walls.
- Do not seal treated cracks yet, and do not cancel the follow-up visit.
😌This is normal
- Seeing more cockroaches 2 to 3 days after treatment, sometimes in daylight.
- Slow, disoriented roaches or roaches on their backs.
- Dead roaches in cabinets and under appliances for 1 to 2 weeks.
📞Call us back if…
- Activity still just as strong after 2 weeks.
- Cockroaches in a room previously unaffected.
- No decrease after the second treatment.
- A visible infestation at a neighbour's: in a building, coordinated treatment becomes necessary.

Preventing a return
A successful treatment eliminates the current infestation. These habits prevent the next one.
- Strict kitchen hygiene: dishes done every evening, counters and sink wiped before bed.
- Food and pet kibble in airtight glass or thick plastic containers.
- Repair leaks and dry water points — cockroaches survive longer without food than without water.
- Seal cracks and around pipes once treatment is complete.
