Health risks

Rats transmit many serious diseases: leptospirosis, salmonellosis, rat-bite fever. They damage structures, gnaw through pipes and electrical wires, and contaminate large amounts of food.

Signs of infestation

  • Large capsule-shaped droppings (12 to 20 mm)
  • Burrows along foundations
  • Gnaw marks on wood and plastic
  • Heavy movement noises in walls or ceiling
  • Visible runways along walls (grease marks)
  • Strong unpleasant odor

Prevention tips

  • Seal openings larger than 12 mm with metal mesh
  • Keep sewers in good repair
  • Don't leave pet food outside
  • Remove debris and dense vegetation near foundations
  • Ensure trash can lids are tightly closed
  • Conduct regular smoke tests
